HARMONY DAY – Wednesday 16 March
On Wednesday 16th March, Parkerville Primary celebrated Harmony Day to recognise and appreciate the diverse cultures and backgrounds in our school. Staff and students wore orange to symbolise clear communication and some students wore traditional or cultural clothes to represent their own heritage. During the day, classes engaged in Harmony Day themed activities with Francis Sensei, including sharing the types of food they enjoy with their family, listening to stories of immigration and discussing practical situations in which we could show respect, acceptance and understanding to ensure that everyone feels they belong. It was a great day to remember that we are all unique and that we should strive to include others.
